K-Pos Familiarisation Course - General

About This Course

The training will be a combination of theoretical lessons and practical exercises. During the course each participant will normally have his own operator station using a generic DP vessel for practical exercises.Vessel-specific functions will not be covered.

After the course, After the course the successful participant are able to operate the K-Pos DP system.

The course documentation is in English and the course will be held in English.

COURSE CONTENT

• K-Pos system arrangement and DP Class Requirements
• System Switch-on and Start-up
• The Human Machine Interface, main functions and views
• Alarms and message system
• Sensor handling and sensor views
• The DP system’s positioning capability
• DP consequence analysis
• Position reference systems - GNSS and HIPAP
• The DP system’s utilization of position measurements and tests on position reference systems
• The operator manuals

Upon successful completion of the 3-day course, you will be given a certificate of attendance.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

DP Operators who need familiarisation with the Kongsberg K-Pos 8 SW DP system.

Skilled DP Operators of DP systems and DP operations

CLASS SIZE

Maximum: 9 participants

ASSESSMENT

The participants knowledge will be tested by Kongsberg Martime’s assessment system.
