About this Course
This Leadership Training course has been developed by KBA Training Centre Pte Ltd (KBAT) and Training Edge Pte Ltd to offer a personal competency course in leadership skills to staff in the Onshore / Offshore Oil & Gas Industry and the commercial construction industry. Training Edge has highly proficient and experienced trainers in this and many other areas of Human Capital Development. This course has been delivered globally and locally to the Major Oil and Gas Companies, Singapore Armed forces, Ministry of Manpower; Universities and MNC’s. COURSE CONTENTSThe 3-day course consists of 5 modules, each with specific leadership and self-evaluation elements as follows :- Module 1 : Understanding Leadership - Discover Your Own Unique Leadership Style and its EffectivenessSets the foundation for the course, during this module delegates will learn to understand what leadership is and to understand, and be able to demonstrate different approaches to leadership and leadership styles.
Module 2 : Managerial Leadership and Personal ManagementDuring this module delegates will learn and understand the key differences between managing/ supervising staff and leading them. This will involve understanding the nature and responsibilities of the different roles, being able to move from the management role to the leadership role as necessary and discovering the modern concept of "managerial leadership" At the same time delegates will explore the skills and attitudes necessary to "manage themselves".
Module 3 : Building and Motivating High Performance TeamsDuring this module delegates will gain a clear understanding of the skills required to build, motivate and lead successful teams Where required, work group exercises will be incorporated into the module.
Module 4 : Communication, Delegation and Working with the teamWill discuss Communication at all levels of leadership and management and how it plays a key role in building a successful team. During this module it will be demonstrated how bad communication has affected various major incidents in the past, and how successful communication can make a success of any situation. The skill of delegation will also be covered in this module linking good communication with effective delegation.
Module 5 : Managing Performance through Coaching, Problem Solving and Change ManagementManaging performance is one of the key skills of good managerial leadership. High performance however needs effective training and development of all staff. During this module the need to train, develop and coach personnel will be clearly demonstrated and understood. Managing performance also involves problem solving and continuously dealing with change and this module shall briefly discuss problem solving methods and management of change.
