Course Overview:-

The IMCA Approved Diver Medic Technician Course provides participants with the skills, knowledge and the confidence to administer the Life Support techniques learnt during the training effectively and safely. Attendees will be taught how to assess the casualty promptly and provide resuscitative measures with up to date emergency first aid equipment. This course will provide the attendees with IMCA approved DMT certification that is recognised internationally by the industry.

Course Objectives:-

To train offshore divers to be a competent Advanced First Aider. It is a known requirement by IMCA to have one member of a dive team who is not diving, other than the supervisor, trained in advance first aid - generally referred to as a 'diver medic'.

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:-

- Perform a Basic Advance Cardiac & Trauma Life Support.

- Understand the Medical, Legal & Ethical aspect of a DMT.

- Proper handling & assessing of patients in a Hyperbaric Chamber or a Diving related injuries.

Duration:-

1 week (DMT Refresher course) - 30 Contact hours
