IMCA - Diver Medic Technician REFRESHER (DMTR)
Course Schedule & Registration
The IMCA Approved Diver Medic Technician Course provides participants with the skills, knowledge and the confidence to administer the Life Support techniques learnt during the training effectively and safely. Attendees will be taught how to assess the casualty promptly and provide resuscitative measures with up to date emergency first aid equipment. This course will provide the attendees with IMCA approved DMT certification that is recognised internationally by the industry.
To train offshore divers to be a competent Advanced First Aider. It is a known requirement by IMCA to have one member of a dive team who is not diving, other than the supervisor, trained in advance first aid - generally referred to as a 'diver medic'.
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Perform a Basic Advance Cardiac & Trauma Life Support.
- Understand the Medical, Legal & Ethical aspect of a DMT.
- Proper handling & assessing of patients in a Hyperbaric Chamber or a Diving related injuries.
1 week (DMT Refresher course) - 30 Contact hours

A minimum class of eight (8) divers is required to run this course while the maximum at twelve (12) for courses conducting in countries outside of Singapore. KBAT has the rights to cancel the course should the minimum class size is not met.
Note: With effect from 1st July 2013, IMCA Diver Medic Technician / Refresher training will be valid for only two years instead of the three years. DMT Skill Training Kit For Rental:
The KBAT DMT Skills Training Kit has been established to meet the ‘on-site skills’ training needs and encourage DMTs to stay current and familiar with the medical techniques that may be required in an emergency. The training manikins are provided to cover each skill set outlined in IMCA D020. It has been proven during recent accidents offshore that the IMCA Diver Medic has been pivotal in saving lives.
