The SRFAC BCLS course is a comprehensive, training programme that combines theoretical and practical elements of Basic Cardiac Life Support.

Course Outline

The SRFAC BCLS course covers a wide range of essential topics, including:

  • Scene Safety and Assessment:

Ensuring the safety of both rescuers and victims in emergency situations.

  • Quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (QCPR):

Techniques for delivering effective chest compressions and rescue breaths for adults, children, and infants.

  • Automated External Defibrillators (AED):

Proper operation and application of AED devices.

  • Airway Management (Using Manual Hand Held Resuscitator (Bag Valve Mask) ):  

Techniques for maintaining clear airways and providing assistance with breathing.

  • Choking Response:

Procedures for relieving choking in both conscious and unconscious victims.

Entry Pre-Requisite

ESS Workplace literacy and numeracy Level 5 or above (GCE N/O Level pass or equivalent). Course materials, instructions and assessments will be conducted in English.

Learners of this course are advised to have at least ES WPLN Level 5 & above or equivalent as otherwise, the learners may find the course challenging to understand and pass the required assessments.

Assessment and Certification

Candidates will be assessed through practical skills assessment with E-Learning exam questions.

Upon successful completion of the SRFAC accredited BCLS course, participants will be awarded a certificate accredited by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) in Singapore that is valid for two years from the date of completion.

This certification attests to the individual’s capability in delivering vital life support and immediate first aid assistance in emergency situations, in accordance with the SRFAC standards.
