Building a career in Health & Safety – Getting qualified

Health & Safety at Work

Significance of nurturing a ‘safety culture’

Whether it is mining or diving, construction or exploration, most business operations involve an element of risk. To achieve the goal of ‘zero harm’ at the work place, it is paramount to promote the concept of safe behavior across the organisation. It is imperative to build and nurture a culture of safety to create an incident-free environment, ensuring optimal health and safety of all concerned. The safety culture is indeed an integral aspect in ascertaining continued operational excellence for every business.

Career prospects in the Health & Safety space

The threat of accident or injury looms large as people work in different environments – hazardous chemicals, heavy machinery, high temperature or extreme pressure. Specially trained professionals are needed to minimise mishaps, prevent sickness and control damage to company assets. And so the demand for occupational health & safety professionals is growing by the day. If you are a certified, professionally trained health & safety specialist, you will find a gateway of opportunities across industry verticals, characterised by excellent career advancement and financial remuneration.

Starting off with KBAT’s ‘Health & Safety at Work Qualification’

This qualification provides day-to-day understanding of the management of health and safety at the workplace. It is a NEBOSH certification, which proves that you have the essential skills (taking the 3-day course is insufficient to become a HSE officer) in the modern, global workplace. Also, this is an ideal first step towards other higher level NEBOSH qualifications such as NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health & Safety and NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.

Key highlights
