Overview

Our training programs adhere to the most up to date medical and educational guidelines published by nationally recognised authorities. They also meet the OSHA training requirement for workplace responders. “Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the known leading causes of death in occupational settings. In today’s context, AED’s are found onboard planes, cruise ships, hotels, factories and many work places. AED is a “must have” according to a standard HSE regulations. As we are using the First Aid International training program to teach, we would like you to know that the primary source authorities for the programs are

  • International Liaison Committee of Resuscitation (ILCOR)
  • UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines for Basic Life Support
  • The course syllabus is recognized by HSE UK

About this Course

This course is designed to meet the requirement of organisations whose first aid needs assessment as determined that their organisation require full First Aid at Work trained employees. This course is approved by the Health and Safety Executive.

This course will provide all the required first aid skills necessary to manage a patient that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services. It also covers other topics such as COSHH, RIDDOR and other first aid health and safety at work information.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Personnel who has been assigned a WSH-related role in the organisation and is the workplace first aider.

LEARNING STYLE

Each section of the book will guide you step by step through each of the essential skills required to be a competent first aider. Through the process of seeing hearing and doing you will learn how to provide first aid in an emergency both safely and effectively. As you complete each skill you will develop the skills, knowledge, techniques and confidence to respond in an emergency..

DURATION

18 Hours (Refresher is 12 hours)

ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION

Candidates will be assessed through a written examination and practical skills assessment. Upon successful completion, candidates will be awarded a certificate issued by First Aid International (FAI) in the UK and certificate expiry is 3 years from date of completion.
