Environmental Standards are developing globally with increasing concerns such as pollution control, waste management, use of energy efficiency — resulting in legal issues and high costs. This environmental management course is an excellent foundation designed to meet the needs of these new and rapidly changing demand and standards.
This is a combination of full time with e-learning/distance options to aid the learning experience.
This 5-day course covers environmental management systems & impact assessments, sources and use of energy & energy efficiency, control of pollution, planning for & dealing with environmental agencies.
The course is designed for managers, supervisors and employees who are involved in managing environmental issues as part of their job, with a concern to meet the organizations’ environmental demands.
This qualification is beneficial to businesses seeking to practice sound environmental management systems. It provides the candidate knowledge to undertake a competent role in managing environmental risks and responsibilities, leading to definite improvements and cost savings for the business. This qualification is relevant to all industry sectors.
Candidates will be assessed through a written examination & a workplace practical environmental review.
Examinations are held on the last day of the course or for distance learners four times per year at any British Council or participating university/Centre.
The NEBOSH Environmental Certificate has been accredited and credit rated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). It sits in the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at SCQF Level 6 with 9 SCQF credit points.
SCQF Level 6 is comparable to NQF/QCF Level 3 in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. See the “Qualifications Can Cross Boundaries” chart issued by the UK regulators, available here.
Students who hold the NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management, and whose result were declared from June 2013 onwards, are also eligible for IEMA Associate (AIEMA) Membership. This means that they can get professional recognition with the AIEMA desingatory letters.
