Diving First Aid

About This Course

~ OPEN TO SINGAPORE BASED STUDENTS ONLY ~

This course is designed for the diving operation team that requires diving first aid qualification. This training is suitable for divers, supervisors and members of dive team in first aid and aligned with Code of Practice for Diving at Work (Singapore Standards SS511). This course will cover diving first aid components and other health and safety at work information pertaining to commercial diving environment.

COURSE CONTENT

In this course, learners will be competent in the following skills

Diving Emergency

  • Decompression illness
  • Arterial Gas Embolism
  • Interstitial Emphysema
  • Subcutaneous Emphysema
  • Aural barotrauma
  • Dental barotrauma
  • Central Nervous System (CNS) Decompression illness (DCI)
  • Spinal DCI
  • Basic Divers Neurological Assessment
  • Marine Bites and Stings

Oxygen Provider

  • Integrating the use of Emergency Oxygen
  • Emergency Oxygen delivery device
  • Integrating Oxygen providing using CPR/AED
  • Emergency Oxygen for breathing/ non-breathing patient
  • Oxygen equipment assembly and disassembly
  • Special considerations for emergency oxygen use
  • Emergency oxygen / Talk through scenarios

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Personnel who has been assigned a WSH-related role in the organisation and is the workplace first aider in the diving operation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This course requires learners to possess the following certificate:

Remarks:

  • Learner without valid occupational first aid certificate and works in a diving operation will need to complete the full three-day Occupational First Aid course before enrolling to the e-learning course.

ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION

Delegates will be assessed through a final assessment (online) and a practical skills assessment (hands-on) to be done at KBA Training Centre Pte Ltd facility in Singapore. Upon successful completion, delegates will be awarded a certificate of attainment issued by KBA Training Centre Pte Ltd and certificate expiry is two years from date of completion, or expiry date as per local/national regulation or guidance requirements.
