The Work Injury Compensation (Amendment) Regulations 2014 and Workplace Safety and Health (Incident Reporting) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 have been gazette and published on 2nd January 2014. It will come into operation on 6th January 2014.
The Amendments
Accidents with lost time from work for more than 3 days
2. Both the WSH (Incident Reporting) Regulations and the Work Injury Compensation Regulations will be amended to require employers to report accidents with lost time from work for more than 3 days instead of 3 consecutive days.
Work-related traffic accidents
3. MOM has traditionally left the management of traffic safety to the Traffic Police who is the main authority for traffic safety in Singapore. The WSH (Incident Reporting) Regulations will be extended to cover traffic accidents which occur in the course of the driver’s work, so that employers of employees involved in work-related traffic accidents will be required to report such accidents.
