Singapore, 12 February 2019, Tuesday – Darren Brunton, Managing Director of KB Associates Pte Ltd (KBA) group of companies was Guest of Honour at the MDIS-Leeds Beckett University (LBU) Graduation ceremony 2019 in Singapore.

On 2 February 2019, KBA’s Managing Director, Darren Brunton was invited by the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) to attend the graduation ceremony as Chair of IOSH’s Singapore Branch. Over 90 graduands from the (BSc (Hons) Safety, Health and Environmental Management degree course and 150 guests attended the ceremony at the Stamford Ballroom, Raffles City Convention Centre.

In Darren’s speech, he inspired graduands to create safer and healthier workplaces. He said, “In your search for success, continue to strive to be the best you can be in life, building a strong, safety and health culture to elevate your organisation and employee’s well-being. You can make the difference by making Singapore a safe and healthy workplace for everyone and a centre of excellence in the field of workplace safety and health.  I commend MDIS and Leeds Beckett University and wish them greater success in cultivating graduates who will contribute to industrial safety, health and environmental management to make the workplace safer and healthier."

The new generation of safety and health professionals and IOSH members have important roles to play in fulfilling the `Vision Zero’ theme defined at the XXI World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2017 in Singapore.  As Chair of IOSH’s Singapore Branch, Darren added, “IOSH is the Chartered body and the largest membership organisation for safety and health professionals. Our members in Singapore are becoming increasingly influential in business here thanks to the increased focus, shaped by the Ministry of Manpower, and the many benefits good health and safety at work can bring.” Darren concluded with this emphasis and encouragement to all graduands - ‘Be the best of you, and GROW PERSONALLY and GROW PROFESSIONALLY’.
